1. General

This website is operated by Get Your Fancy On Pty Ltd (ABN 62 684 938 096) trading as The Costume Company. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to The Costume Company.

By accessing or purchasing from www.costumecompany.com.au, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and all policies referenced on this website.

These Terms apply to all users of the site including customers, vendors, merchants and browsers.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use this website.


2. Online Store Terms

By placing an order through our website you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age or have permission from a parent or guardian.

  • The information provided for purchases is accurate and complete.

  • You are authorised to use the payment method supplied.

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or limit any order at our discretion.


3. Product Information

We aim to ensure all product descriptions, images and pricing are accurate.

However:

  • Colours may vary depending on screen displays.

  • Some costumes or accessories may vary slightly from images shown.

  • Sizing may vary between manufacturers.

Customers are responsible for reviewing sizing charts and product descriptions before purchasing.

If you require assistance with sizing, please contact us via our Contact Us page prior to placing your order.

Customers are advised to try on costumes as soon as possible after delivery to ensure sizing and suitability.


4. Pricing

All prices on our website are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.

Prices are subject to change without notice.

If a pricing error occurs, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a refund.


5. Orders

Once an order has been placed you will receive an order confirmation email.

Orders cannot be cancelled once they have been packed or dispatched.

If an item becomes unavailable after purchase we will contact you to arrange:

  • a replacement product

  • store credit

  • or a refund


6. Shipping & Delivery

Orders are shipped using Australia Post or third-party courier services.

Delivery timeframes provided are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Delays may occur due to:

  • courier delays

  • public holidays

  • weather events

  • peak seasonal demand including Halloween

The Costume Company is not responsible for delivery delays once orders have been dispatched.

Customers are responsible for ensuring their shipping address is correct at checkout.


7. Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

We understand that buying costumes and accessories online is convenient but when you receive them they may not fit or suit you.

Our staff are always happy to assist with sizing or product advice prior to purchase.

Our Returns Policy operates in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.


Return Eligibility

You may return new and unopened items if:

  • You contact us within 48 hours of receiving your item, and

  • The goods are returned within 14 days of delivery

Refunds, store credits or exchanges may be provided where:

  • Goods are faulty on arrival

  • You have received the incorrect item

  • Goods are significantly not as described

  • We are unable to supply the goods purchased

Refunds will only be issued once the returned item has been received and inspected and confirmed to be in good order.


Size Exchanges (Online Orders Only)

If goods purchased online are not the correct size, we may provide a store credit or exchange.

Customers requesting a different size are advised to place a new order immediately through the website to ensure stock availability.

This ensures the fastest delivery of replacement items.

Exchanges apply to the cost of the merchandise only and do not include postage costs.


Items Not Eligible for Refund or Exchange

Refunds or exchanges will not be provided where:

  • You have simply changed your mind and no longer want the item

  • Delivery delays occurred with Australia Post or courier services

  • The item has been worn, used or damaged after delivery


Non-Returnable Items

Due to hygiene reasons the following items cannot be returned or refunded:

  • Wigs

  • Contact lenses

  • Eyelashes

  • Fake hair products

  • Makeup

  • Moustaches and beards

  • Hosiery

  • Underwear

  • Masks


Postage Costs

Refunds, exchanges and store credits apply to the cost of the goods only.

Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty or incorrect.


Return Process

To initiate a return:

  1. Contact us via our Contact Us form within 48 hours of receiving your item.

  2. You will be issued a Return ID Number.

  3. The Return ID must be clearly written on the outside of the package.

All items must be:

  • securely packaged

  • returned in original condition

  • protected to prevent damage in transit

Items damaged due to poor packaging will not be eligible for refund or exchange.

We recommend using registered or trackable postage, as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost in transit back to us.

Returns must be received within 14 days of delivery.

Once the returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you via email of your refund, store credit or exchange within 48 hours.


8. Lost or Damaged Parcels

If an item arrives damaged or appears to be lost in transit, please contact us within 7 days of delivery so we can assist with lodging an investigation with the courier service.


9. SMS / MMS Mobile Messaging Program

We may offer a mobile messaging program ("Program") which allows users to receive SMS or MMS messages from The Costume Company.

By opting in to the Program you agree to receive marketing, promotional and transactional mobile messages at the phone number associated with your opt-in.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchase.

Message frequency may vary and additional messages may be sent periodically based on your interactions with us.


Opting Out of SMS Messages

If you no longer wish to receive SMS messages you may opt out at any time by replying:

STOP

to any message received from us.

You may receive one additional confirmation message after opting out.

Other methods of opting out may not be recognised as valid requests.


10. Email Marketing

By subscribing to our mailing list, creating an account or placing an order on our website, you agree that we may send you email communications including:

  • order confirmations

  • shipping notifications

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia.
